Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
At this time, I do not accept insurance directly. However, I can provide a superbill—a detailed invoice that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement as an out-of-network provider. Each insurance plan is different, so I recommend contacting your insurance provider to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.
How do superbills work?
A superbill is a document I provide that includes everything your insurance company needs to process a claim: dates of service, diagnosis code, procedure codes, and fees. After you pay for sessions, you submit the superbill directly to your insurance provider. If they offer out-of-network reimbursement, they’ll send the reimbursement directly to you. I’m happy to walk you through this process if you’re new to it!
What are the benefits of private pay?
Paying privately (without involving insurance) offers several important benefits:
Confidentiality: Your therapy records are kept entirely between us—insurance companies require diagnostic codes and treatment details to process claims.
Flexibility: We’re not limited by what an insurance company will approve. This means we can fully tailor treatment to your goals, timeline, and needs.
No diagnosis required: Insurance requires a mental health diagnosis to approve treatment. With private pay, we can focus on wellness, personal growth, or preventative care without labeling.
Do you offer sliding scale rates?
I currently have a limited number of sliding scale spots available. These are reserved for those with financial need, and are offered on a case-by-case basis. If cost is a concern, please reach out to discuss current availability.
What ages do you work with?
I work with children (ages 6+), teens, and adults—including caregivers and first responders. If you’re unsure whether I’m the right fit, I offer a free consultation call to help us decide together.
